Here’s an article which caught my eye. The author discusses how television and culture has turned against men:
A casual contempt for men, especially fathers, has crept into much that is pumped out of the (television set).
Thanks to increased sexism against men, men are opting out of society. Why work 9-5 for a promotion when all you receive in return is a higher tax rate, and the envy of the “99%?” Why support a family of four when you can look forward to alimony payments and child support payments if your wife becomes unhappy, thanks to no-fault divorce? Men are increasingly choosing to work part-time, and to go home to their computers and video games, instead of working full-time to support a feminist wife who resents their contributions. And so unemployment rates continue to climb, and taxing the few remaining male workers won’t make up the revenue.
Furthermore, greater than 90% of patent holders are men. The industrial revolution was spawned by the combined ingenuity and toil of men.
Who will work the coal plants, nuclear plants, sewage plants, and oil refineries in 2050? Do women want those jobs? According to one report, women make up just 2.85% of the energy industry. Say farewell to our post-industrial lifestyle if those male workers decide to quit. We may head into a dark age, because losing the toil and interests of men means losing vital services that men overwhelmingly provide.
Finally, several Eastern countries, China especially, are on the verge of a new energy revolution, thanks to increased investments and progress with regards to energy. The coming energy revolution will spawn space travel, household robotics, and computation on an epic scale. If the West continues to put down men and masculine pursuits, the new power of the world will be in the East.
Civilization depends on the tendency of men to produce more than they consume for themselves—it depends on that masculine ambition.
Both men and women have much to give. But it is foolhardy to believe women can create a prosperous nation alone. The West needs to stop ridiculing and punishing masculine ambition if we want to continue to enjoy modern comforts.
